| MMA Gets ready for Holiday Season |
 | The Treasurer says:
On behalf of the MMA, I'd like to thank everyone who purchased MMA Gift Certificates in 2006.
The amount purchased was $67,495. This amount was spent in Manistique Area Businesses.
These businesses truly to appreiciate the customers who are redeeming the certificates, and also those who give the certificates to their empolyees.
We'd like to acknowledge O-N Minerals (Port Inland), Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, Medical Care Facility, Big Boy, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Ace Hardware and every other person or group that purchased individual gift certificates.

A total of $17,450 in Xmas Cash was distributed through local lending institutions to their respective customers. These folks acquired interest free loans courtesy of the MMA and the cooperation and participation of the our local banks and credit unions. MMA sponsors and oversees this program for the benefit of its members.

2006 Gift Certificate
InformationA whopping $67,495 worth of gift certificates where sold during 2006. These certificates are as good as gold. If you are not a member of the association, you may not cash these. MMA members may cash these in just like you would a check (no discount, no extra charges). Include them in your regular deposit just as you would a check. If you haven't joined the MMA, wouldn't this be a good enough reason to join us? Annual dues $50. Complimentary memberships (good until the end of the calendar year) for merchants just starting a new business or taking over an existing business.
